UFC news 2015: Daniel Cormier is ready to rumble with Jon Jones [VIDEO]

Daniel Cormier feels that his career is simply incomplete until he gets payback for the lone loss he incurred, thanks to Jon Jones back in January. But all that could happen soon, depending on how the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) calls it.

Jones escaped possible jail time and has instead been sentenced to 18 months probation and make 72 speaking appearances to escape possible felony charges. Aside from that, it seems that Jones may possibly be returning to the UFC scene and Cormier seems to be the first one who will welcome him.

Of course, this isn't like any other usual welcome. Rather, it will carry revenge written all over for Cormier who wants payback for the loss at UFC 182.

Cormier is coming off a tough win over Swede Alexander Gustafsson, hacking out a split decision win.

And one of the eager spectators of that match was ironically Jones, who seemed to hint that he missed being in action.

The UFC seems to have heard about that as well and are now looking into the details of his plea agreement. Any update on the matter should be out in the coming weeks.

This would be, of course, good news for Cormier who has long wanted to avenge his January loss to Bones. He has held on to the UFC light heavyweight title to this point, probably something that Jones may want back.

After his hit-and-run debacle, Jones was stripped of the belt and placed on indefinite suspension. Cormier won the belt from Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 last May.

This would mean, of course, that other challengers may have to wait. Among them include Ryan Bader who won over Rashad Evans at UFC 192.

"(Bader) has by far earned a title shot, but with that being said, if Jones is ready to go, I'm ready to go," Cormier said on "UFC Tonight." "This is the fight I want to be involved in, this is the fight the fans want to see and this is the biggest fight the UFC could put together," he added.
