Jon "Bones" Jones will finally know his fate this coming Tuesday, Sept. 29, when he appears before the Albuquerque Second Judicial District Court in relation to felony charges after fleeing the scene of an accident last April 26.

At that time, Jones was believed to have ran a red light using a rented SUV. He unfortunately hit a car which was being driven by a pregnant woman and fled the scene after.

The pregnant woman suffered a broken arm after the mishap and the Albuguerque police were unable to find him nearly 24 hours after.

Jones would later turn himself in voluntarily and he was eventually arrested for felony hit-and-run charges. He would be stripped of his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title the following day and be meted a suspension.

It is believed that the legal team of Jones will enter a plea deal on behalf of the UFC fighter based on documents that were obtained by MMA Fighting.

The hearing for Jones has already been delayed reportedly because prosecutors were busy gathering evidence against the former UFC champ.

The issue has kept Jones out of the UFC scene. He was originally set to defend his title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187. With legal issues standing in the way, he was eventually replaced by rival Daniel Cormier, who eventually won the title over Johnson.

Cormier is set to defend his title against challenger Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192 this Oct. 3, days after the set hearing for the deposed champ.

The UFC has stated that Jones will get an immediate title shot once the smoke has cleared concerning his legal issues.

The thing is both Cormier and Gustafsson are eyeing a rematch with Jones should this happen. The two suffered defeats at the hands of the acclaimed best pound-for-pound MMA fighter and depending on the outcome of his case, that could happen as early as 2016.
