UFC seeking publicity with Floyd Mayweather?

Floyd Mayweather in a UFC fight? Highly unlikely.

But in case it does happen, maybe it could be done for charity or something. As far as a serious fight is concerned, the answer is a no brainer; Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn't stand a chance.

This is not to say that boxing is not as dangerous as mixed martial arts. The thing is, MMA fighting is obviously more physical and requires the use of more than just the hands. And MMA fighters such as the Connor McGregor, the one in the middle of this dispute, catching up to a hit-and-run kind of a fighter like Mayweather could be the only problem.

When you think about the scenario, the closest one may think about is the scene between Sylvester Stallone and Hulk Hogan in Rocky III. Of course that is scripted and something made possible for charity, could it be actually done in real life?

Well that should be something. But without batting an eyelash, you know for a fact that odds may not necessarily be in Mayweather's favor.

Dana White believes that aside from McGregor, any MMA fighter can surely beat up Mayweather. Apparently all of it started when McGregor asserted that he could kill Mayweather inside 30 seconds if he would end up facing the undefeated boxer.

So what does Mayweather have to say about it? Well he doesn't take it seriously. With Mayweather all set to clash with Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, he believes that McGregor is simply trying to get some publicity.

In a manner of speaking, Mayweather may have a point. Any other boxer could do the same but what makes it interesting is that the publicity hound is coming from another sport, mixed martial arts.

Mayweather is not expected to bite of course and we have yet to see a fighter make a successful switch from boxing to mixed martial arts.

And from the looks of it, Mayweather has no plans to do so. Well why should he? After the May 2 joust, Mayweather stands to be millions richer which could possibly hint at retirement.
