UFC was nowhere near of re-signing Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar was never near a return to the UFC.

This was what UFC president Dana White bared with regards to previous speculations to plans of a Brock Lesnar return to the octagon during the first quarter of the year.

It will be recalled that former WWE Heavyweight title holder Brock Lesnar was teetering on whether to return to the UFC or remain with the WWE before his contract expired by Wrestlemania 32. Many had speculated a return to the UFC, something further escalated when Lesnar made a surprise appearance in one of the UFC shows.

And as many know by know, Lesnar simply paid a visit and nothing else. Lesnar re-signed with the WWE and formally closed the doors on any UFC return which apparently was due to his health condition.

It will be recalled that Lesnar was forced out of MMA action after suffering diverticulitis which eventually led to his retirement. He returned to the WWE on April 2, 2012 and look like he will be ending his career in wrestling entertainment.

There were a lot of concerns on whether Lesnar could still take the beating and pounding in the MMA and apparently the risks were too high.

Though Lesnar surprisingly lost the title to current WWE Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, it shouldn't be surprising to see Lesnar back in action soon. He is currently on his annual respite and is serving a suspension (storyline) meted by Stephanie McMahon after going ballistic when Rollins denied him a chance for a rematch.

The thing now is that there is no word on when Lesnar would be back in action.

Rollins is set to defend his title against Randy Orton on Extreme Rules in a steel cage match this coming April 26, 2015. The match includes special stipulations which would bar Orton from using his patented RKO finisher.
