UK Branch of 'Christian Peacemaker Teams' is Launched

Christian Peacemaker Teams(CPT), which recently witnessed and reported on important events in Iraq, launched a CPT UK.

CPT is a North American based organisation which was established in 1992 by the Quakers, Brethren, and Mennonite churches. It has extended their mission areas to Iraq, Colombia, the West Bank, and Canada, and it has given an organised and nonviolent alternative to war and other kinds of conflicts.

On 8th June at 7:30 at the London Mennonite Centre CPT will hold a presentation for those who are interested in CPT and want to get more information about its activities and how to be involved with them. On this occasion David Cockburn and Tim Nafziger, both part time CPT corps members, introduce their experiences with CPT.

CPT UK will work as part of the Root and Branch Network which includes the Anabaptist Network, the London Mennonite Centre, SPEAK and Ekklesia.
