Last month, it was announced that a "Beverly Hills, 90210" movie was in the works on Lifetime Network. Now, another hit '90s TV show is going to get the Lifetime treatment as it has been confirmed that a "Melrose Place" movie is also among the projects that the network has greenlit.

According to a Lifetime representative, as quoted by Us Weekly, "Drawing from true stories and anecdotes from interviews with the original cast and crew, 'The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story' will highlight the remarkable behind-the-scenes moments that shaped the series — from early casting drama and Heather Locklear arriving to 'save' Melrose Place to the actors begging its writers for even wilder story lines to make them fan favorites."

The Lifetime movie will be written by Dana Schamlenberg ("Single Ladies") and will be directed by Mark Griffiths ("A Novel Romance"). Michael Larkin ("Secrets in the Walls") and Howard Braunstein ("The Informant") will executive produce.

"Melrose Place" was launched in 1992 as a counterpart to "Beverly Hills 90210." Originally designed to be an authentic look at the life of those in their 20's in Los Angeles, the Aaron Spelling series, created by Darren Star, became the soap opera version of "90210."

The show was set in a small apartment courtyard complex located at 4616 Melrose Place in West Hollywood, California. The series revolved around the individuals residing in the apartments, each one with their own dreams, challenges, trials, and triumphs. The show ran for seven seasons on Fox from 1992 to 1999 and even had a reboot, with some of the original actors reprising their roles, but it only ran for one season on The CW in 2009.

The original cast of "Melrose Place" includes Courtney Thorne-Smith, Andrew Shue, Grant Show, Thomas Calabro, Doug Savant, Heather Locklear, Josie Bissett, and Marcia Cross. The show had many cast changes over the years, and Calabro was the only original cast member to remain in the series throughout its entire run.

As of the moment, a premiere date has yet to be announced for the Lifetime movie.
