In an announcement posted over Twitter, industry follower AllGamesDelta stated that aside from the game, there a number of new features that the last adventure of Nathan Drake will supposedly showcase. However, in order to access Photo Mode, Encounter Select, and a number of bonus features, a Day One patch that comes in at around 5 GB will have to be downloaded first. The version 1.01 patch introduces new features such as multiplayer support, as well as bonus options like the Photo Mode, Render Modes, Journal Viewer; there are also different gameplay bonuses like Encounter Select, Gameplay Modes, and Single Player Modes; as well as general improvements and tweaks to the game.

Meanwhile, developer Naughty Dog also cautions hardcore fans to be vigilant about story spoilers online, after it is reported that a number of copies of "Uncharted 4" were stolen while in transit in the UK. Writing on the EU PlayStation Blog, Shuhei Yoshida said, "As with most Naughty Dog games, the unfolding story is such an integral part of the experience and for this reason we wanted to warn you to beware of the potential for spoilers to be posted by people with access to stolen copies of the game."

However, Yoshida assures fans that Sony and Naughty Dog will do all it can not to spoil the surprise for fans, who have been waiting painstakingly for the last part of the adventures of main protagonist Nathan Drake. Yoshida added, "Please rest assured we will be very vigilant to protect you from this as far as we can so you can enjoy Uncharted 4's experience to its fullest..."
