Naughty Dog's "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" was announced as far back as 2013 and was initially slated to be released this year. However, back in May, the company announced that they would be pushing its release to spring 2016. A new statement from a Naughty Dog representative now indicates that it might be pushed back even further.

According to a report from Gamereactor, one of the tidbits surrounding the game that was discussed during this year's Gamescom was the inclusion of collectibles. Having collectibles isn't much of a surprise for video game fans but the information about this new feature has caused quite a stir in the gaming community.

"Collectibles are maybe in the game," the Naughty Dog rep explained. "We're pretty early in development. We are thinking about it."

When asked if the feature list for the game is complete since they are still in the early stages of development, the representative stated, "Typically we pull things in and out and see if they fit while we develop a game. It's the same with Uncharted 4."

The key phrase to take from all this, however, is that they are still in early development for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." This means there are still a lot of new features that may be implemented — such as the aforementioned collectibles — or features that may be taken out.

Complete levels may not be done, voice over work may not yet be finished, and game testing is still months away since they are still working on an early version of the game. According to the report, it is now more likely that the game will see a launch in late 2016 instead of the previously proposed spring 2016 release window.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be the first entry in the franchise made specifically for the PlayStation 4 although an HD Remaster of the previous three games, titled "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection," is expected to hit the PS4 this Oct. 7 and will come with a multiplayer beta for "Uncharted 4."
