With Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive confirming that the latest and most massive single player downloadable content (DLC) of "Unchartered 4" will be the highlight of the Playstation Experience event next month, fans are already eagerly awaiting what new features the DLC will reveal.

According to a report by Parent Herald, the DLC drew inspiration from the recent expansion of "The Last of Us" — titled "Left Behind" —so it is expected to adopt the same strategy as the previous expansion where story takes off from events from the latest installment in the franchise.

The release of a single player DLC for the game is a big deal for fans because it will be the first time that the studios are doing it for "Unchartered 4." This is perhaps their way of thanking fans for their support for the franchise, which has sold millions of units since its release early this year.

However, fans have to wait for months before the release of the DLC because development only began in May. The DLC is a big thing because Naughty Dog studios has previously stated that "Unchartered 4" will be the last installment of Nathan Drake's adventures.

Still, there is hope remaining that the December DLC will not be the last one, reported Daily Star.

In an interview with voice actor Troy Baker at the Comic Con in London, he confirmed that the DLC is "by far the biggest story DLC [Naughty Dog]" has done. He also teased that the reveal will come out very soon.

Meanwhile, sources have hinted that the plot will involve main hero Nathan Drake and his brother and this time, his daughter will not be featured in the game. The game is also rumored to be a stand-alone, which means that it could be enjoyed by gamers even without the base game.

Nathan Drake's voice actor Nolan North said that while the game did not include Drake's daughter in the story, the team still managed to come up with something worth anticipating. In an interview, he said that while he "imagined [them] going on an adventure with Drake's daughter, what the writers came up with was far better than the ideas [they] could come up with".

The PlayStation Experience (PSX) event will be held on December 3, 2016 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
