A product of game developer Naughty Dog, Inc., the new action adventure video game was announced in 2013 and was originally intended for release this year. The game developer announced last March that it would push back the release date to next year as it needed more time for development.

A new demonstration of Uncharted 4's gameplay features was made during Sony's press conference at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2015).

According to reports, Naughty Dog is also expected to reveal new gameplay footage July, in continuation of the first half of the demo at E3 2015.

As part of the Uncharted series, the new game is expected to take place three years after the events of the previous "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception" game, which was released in 2011. Uncharted 4 will also be the final entry of the series, reports say.

It was also revealed that Naughty Dog was planning to target 60 frames per second (60fps) for the new game's multiplayer mode and 30fps for its single player mode.

Gamespresso quoted lead game designer Kurt Margenau of Naughty Dog as saying: "We want Uncharted to look like the best game we can possibly make. Solid frame rate is the most important thing; that it's consistent. But in multiplayer, we are targeting 60fps still. So we know how it feels on the stick to have 60fps for a multiplayer game, to have that responsiveness."
