When "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" releases next month, players will also need to immediately download a Day One patch in order to thoroughly enjoy the game.

According to industry reporter GameSpot, Sony announced that the new patch 1.000 will include various tweaks, optimizations, and improvements for the games under the anthology collection title. Specifically, the patch targets audio and visual improvements; performance tweaks and optimizations on gameplay, design, and interface like aiming controls; and various stability and gameplay bug fixes.

The improvements and enhancements are a must, since "Uncharted: The Nathan Collection" is a remastered anthology of the three previous games under the "Uncharted" franchise. When the game releases next month, players will be able to access updated and optimized versions of "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves," and the most recent iteration of the series, "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception."

Aside from the improvements and tweaks on the three titles, the anthology game also brings new features like fluid animations and cutscenes due to updating the titles for 1080p/60 fps viewing, additional difficulty options for hardcore players, and a new Photo Mode. In addition, players who purchase "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" will also give players access to the upcoming multiplayer beta run of the new "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." The multiplayer beta will be unlocked later this year, from Dec. 4 to Dec. 13.

"Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" is slated for release as a PlayStation 4 exclusive with a roll out date of Oct. 9. Those who are of two minds about the anthology title can take a sneak peek first and test the game via a playable demo to be released on Sept. 29. Meanwhile, the upcoming fourth installment, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," which had an original 2015 release date, has been delayed until next year instead.
