After a number of hurdles, tactical role-playing game (RPG) game, "Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians," is finally coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This recent update was a big change to the initial plan for the game to be released on PC platforms, back when original developer Playdek was still in charge of the game.

"That's right! I am very excited to announce we are adding Microsoft XBoxOne, Sony Playstation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions of Unsung Story," said Little Orbit CEO Mathew Scott in an official statement.

"For me, I remember playing Final Fantasy Tactics from the couch on my PS1, and that format was quintessential to my experience enjoying that game. Hopefully this balances some of the cancellations and changes we are making," added Scott.

According to Scott, some changes pertain to the cancelations or changes with backer rewards. However, he reminded backers not to panic, as they are making up some "Limited refunds" to make up for them.

"As backers, you will be able to replace your previous platform selections with these console versions at no extra cost. Backers are still limited to the number of copies they purchased through Kickstarter. So if you backed at the Early Bird tier, then you have 1 copy coming as a reward," he explained.

The game first launched its Kickstarter campaign back in 2014, and is going to be developed with the collaboration of Yasumi Matsuno, the director of "Final Fantasy Tactics." The game fell short on pledges, with original developer Playdek even announcing back in February 2016 that the game's development will be halted due to lack of resources. However, the game's rights eventually changed hands this August, with the game now under developer Little Orbit.

Due to the tumultuous pace of events, many are hoping that the game will be released in the near future, though no official release date has been set yet.
