LG never fails to deliver premium television sets, and for the past few years, the tech firm has been incorporating OLED display technology to its products for better viewing quality. Aside from the top-notch display, the LG TVs become popular due to its impressive smart functionalities. In the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company is expected to introduce a brand new surprise, which is the Google Assistant voice support.

According to The Verge, LG is launching a new artificial intelligence (AI) technology known as "ThinQ," and it will be highlighted by its upcoming products at CES 2018 this January, including its latest television sets. Although, the new LG TVs has more tricks to offer the users with the addition of Google Assistant to their webOS operating system. Google's digital assistant will arrive on LG's OLED and Super UHD LCD displays. Before, the LG TVs running webOS use the company's resident voice support, but the tasks it could perform are limited compared to Google Assistant.

The combination of ThinQ AI technology and Google Assistant in the 2018 LG TVs will offer a satisying experience to the users. The ThinkQ AI will be the one in charge of contextual tasks or functions more related to viewing, which include searching for the soundtrack of the film that is currently playing, or turning off the TV when the show is finished. The 2018 LG TVs also use the ThinkQ AI as its central smart home hub. Meanwhile, the Google Assistant will have to control over other smart home devices connected to the LG TV, besides every task that it has been known to perform in other gadgets.

Still, it is not expected that all 2018 LG TVs around the world will have the Google Assistant, and the company has yet to reveal the list of countries which will receive the voice support. In spite of these new ThinkQ and Google Assistant additions, the new LG televsion sets will keep the webOS running. To note, the 2018 LG TVs will not be the first webOS-based displays to introduce Google Assistant, as Sony and Philip TVs have also featured the digital assistant for the past couple of years, Tech Radar reported.

The 2018 LG TV lineup will also highlight the new Alpha 9 processor on top of the ThinQ AI and Google Assistant support. This new television chip will boast 35 percent faster performance compared to the previous LG TV sets, plus a framerate increase to 120fps for 4K displays.
