A new series is coming from the Syfy network called "Happy!" and it promises to impress viewers with its non-stop action and dark comedy.

The trailer for the upcoming series premiere came out recently and showed the main character Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni), who is an ex-cop and hitman who wants to end his life because he doesn't see the need to live anymore. He daydreams one day about shooting himself in the head in front of a bathroom mirror. However, when his brain is blown off and blood starts to gush out of it, he starts to dance instead under some disco lights. All of a sudden, he gathers his senses and is back in front of the mirror. He then continues his depressing life harassing other people and extorting them for money.

One night, however, Sax encounters a hoodlum who shoots at him and gets hit. He falls to the ground and wakes up later in an ambulance, thinking that he's dead. All of a sudden, he hears a cheerful voice and sees a small animated blue horse that talks to him. "Hey, can you see me? You can see me! I'm Happy! The happy horse, horse, horse full of fun of course, of course!" the cartoonish creature sings as he flies back and forth over Sax. The ex-cop can't believe his eyes and there starts the adventure with the magical Happy (voiced by Patton Oswalt).

In a recent interview with USA Today, Meloni shared about his experience playing the edgy character. "Everyone likes to see this and every actor likes to play this, the antihero or the guy or girl who has this journey of self-discovery," he expressed.

"Happy!" season 1 episode 1 will hit the airwaves on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10 p.m. EDT on the Syfy channel.
