USPG launches resource for advent to remember world church

USPG: Anglicans in World Mission has released a special worship resource, inviting churches to remember the world church this advent.

The resource entitled "God's Generous Journey" is an opportunity for church congregations to consider the journey to Bethlehem made by Mary and Joseph. The resource features Gospel readings, prayers and hymns.

The General Secretary of USPG, Bishop Michael Doe compared the Christmas story with the plight of the Two-Thirds World saying, "Mary and Joseph's journey was both challenging and difficult, while also being a journey of hope and joy. So it is that many families around the world today are finding that their journey through life is a daily struggle to survive."

He added, "This Advent we would like churches to remember the vulnerable and marginalised peoples of the world and reflect upon how the world church is reaching out in practical and life-changing ways."

"God's Generous Journey" will take congregations on a journey divided into six stages, which can be completed over six weeks or as one service.
