Since Nina Dobrev announced last April that she wouldn't be returning to "The Vampire Diaries" after the sixth season, many fans were saddened about her leaving the show and they wondered how Mystic Falls will ever be the same again without her character, Elena Gilbert.

Loyal viewers were slightly comforted when, instead of killing off Elena, show creator Julie Plec chose to have her put under an enchanted sleep as long as Bonnie is living. This gave fans hope that Dobrev might make her return, although the actress has made it clear that she is done with the series for good. 

But her fans are not the only ones who will miss her. According to Entertainment Weekly, her "TVD" co-stars also shared what they remembered and will miss most about working with her via a behind-the-scenes clip featured in the Season 6 DVD/ Blu-ray release of The CW show. 

Plec said that the show was Dobrev's college, and now, the actress is ready to get out there in the "real world."

Paul Wesley talked about not looking Dobrev in the eye the first time he saw her because he wanted their first scene together — which involved the two of them accidentally bumping into each other — to be authentic, as if they have never met before. 

Michael Malarkey, who plays Enzo, said that Dobrev is their "Queen Bee." 

"You know, she's gonna be missed greatly," Malarkey said. He also recalled a fight scene that he did with the actress during the fifth season of the show, saying, "Nina whispered in my ear right before the take, 'Actually throw me.'" 

Candice Acciola, who plays Caroline in the series, echoed Malarkey's sentiment about Dobrev's work ethic, and she said that one of the things that she loved doing with her were the fight scenes because "she takes it just as seriously as I do." 

In April, Dobrev said that she was leaving the show because she always thought that Elena's journey should end after six seasons. It was also reported that the actress wanted to have a career acting in films, and this year, she is set to star in the horror flick "The Final Girls."

The "Degrassi" alum said goodbye to her famous character at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this month, telling fans that although she is grateful for having played Elena for the past six years, there comes a time when change is necessary. 

"These were six incredible years that I've had the pleasure of sharing with all of you guys," said Dobrev. "I wouldn't be here without you."
