Will "The Vampire Diaries" introduce Mystic Falls' first same-sex couple in season 7?

TVLine broke the news that three new vampires will roam around town when the supernatural drama returns to The CW in October, and two of them are lovers of the same sex.

According to the report, two characters named Nora and Mary Louise will enter the complicated circle of Mystic Falls characters in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7. Both allegedly became vampires when they were in their mid-20's.

The casting information revealed that the dangerous vampires have been keeping their relationship a secret for over a century, but those who can get close to their very tight circle will easily notice their special connection. Mary Louise is reportedly the more doting one between the two, and Nora is the feisty one in the relationship. However, no one should attempt to cross the dangerous vampires to avoid any fiery encounter.

Apart from the pair, another female vampire will also appear in town, and her name is Valerie. She is known to have a dark sense of humor as her way to build walls around her. However, the report claims that a Mystic Falls resident will remind her of her former happy days. Will one of the Salvatore brothers be responsible for this?

Meanwhile, actress Candice Accola recently revealed that she is rooting for her character Caroline Forbes to finally begin the long-awaited romance with Stefan Salvatore in season 7. In an interview with TV Guide, the actress said that she has high hopes for the pair.

"I feel like six seasons is a nice, long slow-burn, so I'm excited to see these characters together," the actress shared.

"You know, usually, it's so immediate — especially on our series — it's like, there's so many pushing up against the walls and 'I'm gonna take you now'," she said. "And, as much as we all wish that relationships were like that ... Maybe in Fifty Shades of Grey."

The actress added, "In real life, it's the person you can be yourself in front of in the most dorky way. Both of these characters have seen the worst in each other and they still like each other and I think that's really cool. I think that's really special."

Will Steroline finally happen when "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 premieres on Oct. 8?
