Earlier this week, "The Vampire Diaries" star Candice Accola announced on Instagram that she and husband Joe King are expecting a baby. As season 7 of The CW show is about to premiere next month, fans are wondering whether her pregnancy will be written into the series as her character, Caroline, and Stefan (Paul Wesley) have just gotten into a relationship.

Speaking to E! Online on the "TVD" set in Atlanta, actor Ian Somerhalder gave his take on whether or not Accola's pregnancy will be written into the show and said, "I'm assuming so. One would only hope so, because I think that might be hard to explain."

If the writers and show creator Julie Plec decide to write the star's pregnancy into season 7, Accola said that Caroline and Stefan will be "very quick parents."

"I think with vamp speed, that would definitely help with diaper changes," she said.

Whether the pregnancy will be included or not in the show remains to be seen, but fans can look forward to cheering on a new couple when "The Vampire Diaries" premieres next month. For the past six seasons, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon's (Somerhalder) romantic relationship has been the focus of the show, but season 7 will see a new pair to root for in Caroline and Stefan.

Speaking to TVGuide, Wesley said that it's good that Stefan now has a girl who doesn't feel conflicted about being with him. It can be recalled that in previous seasons of the show, Elena was constantly choosing between Stefan and Damon. Now, Stefan has a girl who "reciprocates."

"I felt like Elena was constantly torn between the two brothers," said Wesley. "It's nice to be with a woman who's not torn about being with you! She's all about [him]."

And although Caroline is clearly in love with Stefan, Wesley said that fans should not expect that their relationship is going to be perfect. He added that although situations are not perfect, the love that they feel for each other is "very perfect," and that they'll be fighting for that love amidst all the chaos in Mystic Falls this season.

Season 7 of "The Vampire Diaries" premieres on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8/7c on The CW.
