Caroline still mourns the death of her mother but she does not have to be alone in the battle with Stefan by her side. In "The Vampire Diaries" season 7, fans will see their love grow. But just how does Stefan plan to have her fall head over heels for him?

"He's going to be sort of the same loving guy he's been for the past six seasons — except when he was ripping people's heads off," Paul Wesley, who plays the character, quipped in an interview with TV Line. He then went on a little detour to ponder about how many people his character killed. 

Before getting completely sidetracked, the actor spilled that Stefan and Caroline are only waiting for the right time. The latter is not ready to be in a relationship yet as she tries to get past her mom's passing and all throughout, fans will see Stefan patiently waiting and standing beside her as she moves on. 

"Caroline wants to be with Stefan, but she's also trying to do the right thing by herself, taking the time to mourn her mother's death so she can enter into this relationship with a clean state and a free mind," the actor explained. 

The actor said that they probably will eventually give in to what their hearts dictate but they are also conscious of the timing. That being said, Wesley previewed that "we'll see moments where's she's struggling, wanting to say something but not knowing what to say."

Of course, all this happens as Stefan's mom Lily and the Heretics take over Mystic Falls and murder everyone they want. Damon, meanwhile, moves on from Elena by completely reverting back to his hot-tempered self. 

"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 premieres on Oct. 8 with "Day One of 22000, Give or Take."
