'Vanquish' PC edition release date, news: SEGA confirms PC edition release on May 25

SEGA and PlatinumGames will finally release "Vanquish" on PC on Thursday, May 25.

Game publisher SEGA had been teasing the release of the third-person shooter game on PC on Twitter since early this month. Players of the game had been waiting for it for years, since the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions have been in the market since 2010.

According to reports, "Vanquish" PC will have a 4K resolution support and ship with an unlocked frame rate. It will also have unlocked HD resolution, as well as improved graphics options.

The PC edition of "Vanquish" will come exclusively through Steam. According to reports, those who already bought the PC edition of PlatinumGame's other popular third-person action game "Bayonetta" in April will receive an automatic 25 percent discount if they pre-order the game.

Those who decide to pre-order "Vanquish" on PC will be able to get several bonus contents for free. It will include a digital OST sampler, a digital art book, several wallpapers, and a number of avatars for the game. All these items and the main game will be included in the pre-order price of $19.99.

It seems like this is not the last classic SEGA game to be relaunched on PC. Based on the press release from SEGA Europe's senior vice president of commercial publishing John Clark, the favorable feedback on the PC edition of "Bayonetta" inspired them to launch more games on PC format.

"It was great to see the positive response from our community to the Bayonetta PC launch last month, and we are pleased that we are in a position to be able to announce Vanquish, another of our highly requested back catalogue titles," Clark stated in a press release. "There's more to come from Sega in this space, so stay tuned for further announcements."
