Vicar Introduces ‘Wedding Bells taster’ Session

A Church of England vicar introduced a wedding trial idea by inviting 15 couples to a “wedding taster session to welcome couples to hold marriages at church. In the growing trend of weddings outside of the church, Father Richard Grigson from St Saviour’s Smallthorne Church prepared an event giving couples a chance to hear the top ten wedding hymns, prayers and Bible readings.

"A wedding is a wonderful and happy occasion, and a church wedding is very special, said Grigson. "Many couples don't know how to contact their local church, or are not sure whether they want to be married in church. Our Wedding Bells taster session will hopefully answer many of the questions people have about getting married."

Marriage has become big business for companies aiming to sell new things. But the Church is not a business. "We are not a business, we are offering people a chance to ask God's blessing on their lives, and you can't put a price on that."
