Rumors regarding video game developer and publisher Atlus have been roaming around the internet. Reportedly, Atlus has been working on a brand new high-end game for the PlayStation 4.

The rumors came into existence after a job listing at a Japanese careers site was supposedly linked to Atlus. The listing was searching for a 2D concept art creator and an animator for a PS4 game. According to video game news website Gematsu, the job listing also hinted at a search for an in-house team. The game would reportedly be a roleplaying game centered around a goddess and other unique deities, something Atlus's well-known games "Shin Megami Tensei" and "Persona" have always focused on.

Gematsu went on to reveal what the job listing was looking for in potential candidates: "A newly under-development PlayStation 4 project. We will tell you of the game's style when you are interviewed. As for the genre, it is a game that includes action-based battle elements. 2D concept art production is the main duty for this job." The listing stated. The company the posted the job listing was unnamed, but curious fans noticed that they were based in Setagaya – where Atlus' headquarters is located.

While location alone is not enough to prove whether or not Atlus posted the job listing, people have been speculating on the possibility of new "Shin Megami Tensei" or new "Persona Game." Gematsu was not the only video game website to touch on the rumors, Wccftech, and Gamingbolt have also pondered on the idea of Atlus returning with an announcement regarding a new game.

The job listing regarding the 2D game has since been taken down.

Atlus is a video game company that develops, publishes, and distributes games. The company is well known for their "Shin Megami Tensei" and "Persona" games and recently received critical acclaim for their hit Japanese Roleplaying Game (JRPG) "Persona 5."
