It seems like Viking king Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel) days will be over soon, based on the trailer for "Vikings" season 4.

In the trailer screened during the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con and recently posted on the show's official website, Ragnar will be facing a lot of difficulties and deal with several problems caused by his most trusted people, including his wife Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) in the fourth season of History Channel's historical drama series.

Previous spoilers revealed that despite trying to make things work between their marriage, Ragnar and his second wife will eventually part ways. However, it would be impossible for Aslaug to shy away from power after she realized how good it felt when she was appointed to take care of Kattegat while he and the rest of the Viking warriors were away.

His tainted relationship with his boat builder Floki (Gustaf SkarsgÄrd) will also be explored in the upcoming season. In season 3, Floki killed the Viking leader's Anglo-Saxon monk Athelstan (George Blagden). While Floki and Ragnar had each other's back for a long time, Athelstan's death will still make a big divide between the two.

In an interview with Variety, series creator Michael Hirst revealed that Ragnar and Floki's friendship is on the line in "Vikings" season 4. He said that Floki's crime will be "a big, big issue and it will feature in a very, very important way in season 4 with hopefully some unexpected results."

Ragnar's relationship his first wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will also have a new dynamic in season 4, after she admits that she still loves him even though she thought that he is already dead. But viewers are also advised to stay tuned to find out if Lagertha will regain her Earldom in the upcoming season.

But if Ragnar will indeed die in "Vikings" season 4, it could mean that one of his young sons will continue his legacy. It could be Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), his younger step-brothers Sigurd "Snake-in-the-Eye" and Ivar the Boneless who will battle for the throne.

"Vikings" season 4 is slated to premiere sometime in 2016.
