The long wait for new information regarding History's critically acclaimed historical drama series is over since the people behind "Vikings" answered questions about the series on Friday, July 10, at the Room 6A of the San Diego Convention Center at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

History's executive vice-president and General Manager Dirk Hoogstra joined series creator Michael Hirst and the cast of the series, including Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, and Alexander Ludwig during the show's panel presentation.

Part of "Viking's" SDCC 2015 presentation included an exclusive Comic-Con sneak peek of the show's upcoming season 4, which will premiere in 2016. Participants also got the chance to ask their favorite Viking characters questions.

The History channel also came up with other Vikings-themed presentations at the annual pop culture and entertainment assembly, including the Bludgeon Booth Convention Center, where fans can have the chance to personally experience an integrated action-packed battle scene from the series. There is also an area called the Vikings Horns Gaslamp District where participants can drink beer from horn-shaped vessels just like what the Vikings used to do, as well as explore the Vikings Longship Downtown/ Gaslamp District.

Meanwhile, the cable network recently released a new preview for "Vikings" season 4, and it shows how Viking chief Ragnar and his men survived the bloody and brutal encounters that they met along the way before reaching Paris.

The one-minute video basically shows how Ragnar and the Norsemen surpass all the arrows, swords, boulders, hot oils showers, and even gigantic bears before reaching their destination.

Screen Fad also shared that new characters will join Ragnar and his family next season, including "Bad Boys" star Peter Franzen as the Scandinavian warrior king named Harald Finehair, Jasper Paakkonen as Harald's younger brother Halfdan the Black, and "Once Upon a Time" alum Dianne Doan as the Chinese character named Yidu.

"Vikings" season 4 will air sometime in 2016.
