'Vikings' season 4: New photos showcase Floki's fate and Bjorn fighting a bear

Vikings - Bjorn versus a bearHistory HD

History HD has released a new batch of photos, courtesy of Screen Crush, that gives audiences a clue on how much time has passed since the season 3 finale. The photos also reveal a few key scenes that will resolve plotlines from the previous season.

One of the images showcase Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) being arrested. It is widely speculated that this photo occurs during the scene showcased in the trailer where Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) announces that Floki should answer for the death of Athelstan (George Blagden).

In Viking culture, the two most severe punishments are either execution or exile and the former has been showcased numerous times on the series thus far. However, banishment may be the punishment dealt to Floki because not only is he one of the core characters but he is also one of Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) closest friends despite what Floki did.

Another image showcases Bjorn fighting a bear. There is no indication yet as to how or why Bjorn is fighting a wild beast but this is expected to be a part of his journey to become a man and leader of Kattegat now that this father is getting old and is likely to die soon.

Bjorn won't be the only one facing his responsibilities as an elder as other photos reveal that Ragnar's other sons have grown. When last seen they were toddlers but the photos now reveal they are roughly 7 to 10 years of age, hinting that around three years have passed since the invasion of Paris.

The last notable photo reveals the character Yidu (Dianne Doan), a woman from the Far East. She is described as a prisoner who is later rescued and will be the one to catch Ragnar's interest, potentially becoming his third love interest in the series.

"Vikings" season 4 premieres Feb. 18.
