'Vikings' season 3 episode 2 spoilers: Mystery Wanderer to arrive in Kattegat

For fans who were able to catch the first episode of "Vikings" season 3, many may recall that Ragnar and Lagertha depart Kattlegat with settlers as they head for Wessex. Ragnar once again leads his men to battle but this time with reinforcements as they align with Wessex.

As for some episode 2 spoilers, creator Michael Hirst provides some clues on what to expect when he spoke with TV Guide.

First off was that Ragnar will be around at least until the end of the current season. Ragnar is considered one of the key characters of the season so don't expect him to be killed off anytime in the course of Season 3.

And then there is the matter of the working title called The Wanderer.

A mysterious figure appears in Kattegat. Known as the Wanderer, the new character is someone that (for now) seems to be playing neutral. His appearance will be something to watch out for, not because it remains a mystery on which side he will take but because of his special abilities. Among those abilities include his ability to heal which will be witnessed as he helps Aslaug (wife of Ragnar Lothbok) and her crippled son, Ivar.

However, it remains to be seen as to which side the Wanderer will be on. Will he be an ally or an enemy? He could be neutral as well.

Other twists to watch out include that of the said brewing romance between Lagertha and King Ecbert which should be interesting considering a communication gap exists since both cannot speak the other's language.

A new character in Kalf will eventually turn on Lagertha who she initially leaves in charge. This was revealed by Hirst via Zap2it.

Lastly, Hirst bares that the Vikings take Paris. Apparently Hirst is taking into consideration the time period which historically saw the Vikings raid Paris with over 100 boats and 3,000 men.

"The Vikings" season 3 episode 2 will air on February 26, 2015 10/9c on the HISTORY channel.
