'Vikings' season 3 spoilers: What will Ragnak do?

With just a month left before the third season premiere of "Vikings," History Channel revealed the first trailer for their widely popular historical drama series.

The trailer shows Ragnak (Travis Fimmel) and his troupe planning to stage another series of looting in the western part of Paris while they are resting in Wessex. As he looks past his own domain in Kattegat, the ambitious warrior reflects on his conquest, and seems to be inspired to continue fighting to reach his goals.

He tells his son Bjorn, "We fight. That is how we win. That is how we die."

Meanwhile, "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst shared several teasers during an interview with Zap2It last year, including the plot plans for the upcoming Paris raid.

"This isn't a storyline that's going to go away in a couple of episodes. It's a storyline that's going right through the end of Season 3, into Season 4, and it has huge impact on several of our leading characters," the series showrunner said.

Since the big Parisian raid will really be happening, it is safe to assume that the huge impact that Hirst was saying involves the death of a major character in the show.

Actor Clive Standen, who portrays the role of Ragnak's brother Rollo, was asked by a panel during the Comic Con last year if there will be death during the raid, but he neither confirmed or denied any information about it.

"Vikings" is the first scripted series featured in History Channel. It is adapted from the story of Ragnar Lodbrok, the popular warrior featured in legendary Norse poetry. The TV show combines fiction and real-life accounts based on the legend of the Vikings.

The first episode for "Vikings" season 3 titled "Mercenary" will be aired on Feb. 19, followed by the second episode titled "The Wanderer" the week after that.
