A short teaser for the midseason premiere of the historical drama was released one week before the cast head over to San Diego Convention Center for the show's scheduled panel for the 2016 San Diego Comic Con on Friday.

Based on the trailer, the once mighty King of Denmark and leader of the Kattegat warriors is now aging and looking powerless years after his attempt to raid Paris failed.

Before the series took a hiatus at the end of episode 10, Ragnar's return to Kattegat after years of hiding received a lukewarm welcome from his sons with Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland). He felt his sons' disgust as he made his presence known in the island, which was why he challenged each one of them to kill him to know who among them will be worthy of his throne.

Based on the teaser video, Ragnar will still face bloody combats before he could succumb to death. Speculations say that the death of the king of the Norsemen will still be at the hands of one of his children. But who among Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø), Sigurd (David Lindström), or the fan-favorite Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh) will inherit the throne?

Aside from the panel that will be attended by cast members Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen, Gustaf Skarsgård, Alexander Ludwig and series creator Michael Hirst and the trailer video, History Channel announced that they will also set up a snake pit complete with real snakes for the upcoming 2016 Comic Con.

According to the network, "Attendees with enough nerve to enter the den will have their screams and writhing captured on camera in shareable rapid gifs. Survivors will receive a Vikings Viper Cuff as a token of their triumph over death."

Those who will enter the "Vikings" Vipers Den on Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21 will get a chance to win tickets to the cast panel and autograph session on Friday, July 22.

The network is also expected to reveal episode 11's release date in the upcoming SDCC.
