Rollo (Clive Standen) may have had the upper hand against his brother Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) during the previous episode of "Vikings," but fates could possibly turn in the next episode of season 4.

According to the official synopsis for the episode, Ragnar will come up with an "ingenious plan" to finally capture Paris and defeat his younger brother despite his poor health condition.

The synopsis for the episode reads:

"Defeat for the Vikings calls Ragnar's leadership into question as they evacuate their camp and move back down-river. Ragnar himself remains inscrutable until he orders the fleet to beach at a cliff face and unveils an ingenious plan. Rollo and Gisla have news that strengthens Rollo's position at the French Court whilst Count Odo fails to identify his true enemies, with fatal consequences."

The clue about Ragnar's plans could be found in the episode's title, "Portage," which refers to the transferring of a boat and its cargo in the middle of two seaworthy waters. This could mean that the King of Denmark is thinking of carrying something before they attack the city.

Various reports also claim that the events of episode 8 will be carried over to the next two episodes of "Vikings" season 4.

According to the synopsis for episode 9 called "Death All 'Round," all the efforts exerted by Ragnar and his men will finally get a favorable result as they launch their boats again near the shores of Paris. In episode 10, titled "The Last Ship," the epic battle between Ragnar and Rollo will come to a fiery end.

But if Ragnar manages to beat his younger brother and the French in their upcoming battle, Rollo's position inside the French Court could be compromised. This could mean that all his hard work to prove his loyalty to his wife Gisla (Morgane Polanski) and her father Emperor Charles (Lothaire Bluteau) will go to waste.

"Vikings" season 4 episode 8 airs on Thursday, April 7, on History Channel.
