"Vikings" fans were a bit stunned by the show's mid-season finale. Rollo and Ragnar finally met again, but the Kattegat King lost this time. However, it is not yet the end of reign of Ragnar, as the show's creator, Michael Hirst, discussed the future of the show.

Hirst was interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter, and he shed some light on what fans can expect for the rest of the season. Fans were expecting, bitterly, that King Ragnar will just disappear from the show, given the controversy regarding his death.

However, Hirst clarified that Ragnar's end is not coming yet.

He said," Absolutely not! You wait until you see the next season. Ragnar's story is nowhere near the end. Nowhere near the end, and it's just an amazing, onward story. It may be the story of the rise and fall of a hero — it still counts as a fall, I suppose — but some of my best work and Travis' work comes in the next half of the season. If you think you've seen stuff from Travis yet, you haven't."

The show writer also mentioned that the next 10 episodes for season 4 might be not near what the fans have thought will happen.

Meanwhile, a new mid-season trailer was released by History Channel, to the delight of fans. There are several things noteworthy in the 40-second trailer.

Ragnar and his second son with Aslaug, Ivar the Boneless, is all grown up and is having a man-to-man talk with his father. Rollo is telling his French wife, Princess Gisla, that he still has Viking blood in him. The next scene shows him covered in blood, fighting alongside his nephew, Bjork Ironside. Rollo is already wearing a Viking gear and not a European armor.

Also, it seems that Ragnar and King Ecbert will meet again in Wessex, as a scene depicts an encounter between their troops.

"Vikings" second half of season 4 is expected to be back by fall on the History Channel.
