'Vikings' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Harbard the Wanderer to return in new episodes

Once again, a new season of the "Vikings" TV series is expected to premiere on the History channel sometime next year. The fourth season of the show was officially renewed back in March, after the third season debuted last February.

The last season 3 of the "Vikings" focused on the raiding party and their quest towards discovering the new world.

Here's what to expect from the new season. Zap2it confirms that King Ragnar Lothbrok, portrayed by actor Travis Fimmel, will return to the scene alongside actor Kevin Durand who is portraying Harbard the "Wanderer".

International Business Times reports that Durand confirmed he will return to reprise his role and that they had already begun shooting new scenes for the show. The report also added that Durand's character will pay a visit to the town of Kattegat where he will "create more chaos".

In addition, Screen Crush reports that actors Jasper Paakkonen and Peter Franzen will join as King Harald Finehair of Scandinavia and his younger brother Halfdan the Black, respectively.

Also at the recent Comic-Con 2015 event that took place in San Diego, a new trailer for the fourth season of "Vikings" was revealed. Cast members Alexander Ludwig, Clive Standen, and Travis Fimmel attended the event. The new trailer finally shows the character Floki, portrayed by actor Gustaf SkarsgÄrd, being arrested for the murder of the character Athelstan in the show.

The season 3 of the "Vikings" has received positive reviews, according to a report, with Rotten Tomatoes giving the show a 100 percent rating. Based on Metacritic, the season 3 earned 81 out 100 points.

The "Vikings" series is based on a legendary Norse hero who was a farmer and later became King of the Vikings. The first season of the series premiered in North America in 2013. The series is being filmed in Ireland.
