In the next episode of "Vikings" season 5, Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) devises a plan to attack the Viking leader Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) and his forces.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "The Plan" was just released and it shows Heahmund with King Aethelwulf (Moe Dunford) overlooking the town of York.

"I am your King, your god!" he shouts at Heahmund.

Apparently, the bishop disagrees with the king's plan to regain control of York because he has a different vision of how they can overcome the Vikings. However, he kneels down in front of Aethelwulf and says, "Forgive me sire, kings of kings."

Heahmund follows the king's strategy and the Saxons are able to breach the walls. However, they tread carefully as they approach the inner walls. Heahmund and Aethelwulf open the huge doors as the soldiers stand behind them prepared to fight.

The bishop is shocked at what he sees inside and his expression sends a signal to his men. It remains to be seen what the Saxons will encounter in the center of the town.

Meanwhile, Ivar is devising his own plan on how to defeat Heahmund and his soldiers. However, his brother Hvitserk (Marco Ilso) is not convinced about his strategy. "Of course, I have a plan," he says to his Viking sibling. It appears that the two warring factions are going to come to a head to gain control of York.

In the last episode, Ivar's brother Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) abandoned him because he felt that Ivar's power was getting to his head. He and his men decided to go back to Kattegat and leave Ivar to his own whims and desires. He was not going to be part of his plans.

"Vikings" season 5 episode 4 will hit the airwaves on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. EST on the History channel.
