Gwen Stefani will make her return to "The Voice's" red swivel chair as a coach in the show's upcoming ninth season. The "Hollaback Girl" singer will join fellow coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams.

In a press release, Stefani said that she is so excited to make her return to the hit NBC singing competition show, saying, "It's so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I'm looking forward to working again with Adam, Blake and Pharrell. I love those guys."

Carson Daly will also be back to host the show, and during season 8 of the series, which featured Christina Aguilera, Levine, Shelton, and Williams, he told Us Weekly that he knew that the slate would be slightly different when the show returns this fall. Daly said that the switch-up is due to the coaches being musicians and not "TV people."

"We knew that they have to tour around the world, and so, unlike other shows, we've always known that we we're going to have revolving chairs," he said.

Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that Aguilera's hiatus from the NBC show doesn't mean that she's leaving for good.

"Christina is confirmed for season 10 and has already signed her contract," said the source to the magazine.

The insider added that Aguilera has been vocal about not doing season 9 as she wants to spend more time with her family and her children.

As for those who would like to try to join the competition, Bustle reports that auditions for season 9 were already held earlier this year. For season 10, however, open auditions will be held in Detroit, Oklahoma City, New York City, and Los Angeles throughout the month of June. The site says interested applicants who are unable to make it to one of those cities may turn in a video submission.

"The Voice" season 9 premieres this fall on NBC.
