A new round of singing starts today in "The Voice" season 9. Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams are back to set up their respective new teams of talented hopefuls, who they will hone into singing superstars. 

As per E! Online, there are a great deal of promising contestants joining this year, and each of them has the gift of touching the hearts of many with their voice and making them groove at the same time. Fans can expect all four coaches to turn their chairs to many of them. 

The publication also notes that there will be tons of young aspirants taking the stage in "The Voice" season 9, eager to show the coaches and the world what they've got. Their stories and their motivations for singing will move viewers, too.

But before the audience gets to meet all these contestants, the judges will first assemble on stage for a fun mini-concert as their way to welcome the new contenders. Fans will be treated to performances from the coaches themselves as they do a cover of one another's hits to kick off the brand new season.

Shelton will belt out a version of "Don't Speak," originally performed by Stefani's band No Doubt. In return, the one and only female coach in the group will do a version of the country singer's song "Neon Light." Levine will take a crack at William's hip-shaking, feel-good song "Get Lucky," which the "Happy" singer originally performed with electronic music duo Daft Punk. Lastly, Williams will take on Maroon 5's new song "Sugar." 

"The Voice" season 9 officially kicks off today, Sept. 21. The show ought to be another exciting run, with the very first episode already introducing whom Levine called via E! Online "the most important person who's ever been on this show."
