Is the dreaded "The Walking Dead" character Negan finally coming to the TV series?

There are several reports saying that actor Ethan Embry will join the cast of AMC's widely popular post-apocalyptic series. However, there are no further details given regarding the kind of character that Embry will play in the TV show.

According to earlier reports, series showrunner Scott Gimple described Embry's upcoming character as someone who is "very loosely based on a comic character." He also added that "people will know when they see it."

Because of this, several "TWD" comic readers have speculated that Embry will bring the ruthless and vicious villain named Negan to the small screen. The psychotic and brutal leader of the Saviors, the group of survivors from Washington, D.C., is one of the highly anticipated characters for the TV show. He is known for taunting Rick Grimes' group in the comics series.

However, there is no proof pointing to Embry's possible portrayal of Negan. According to several reports, the actor might appear as Scott, one of Alexandria Safe Zone's residents who has high respect for Rick's survival instincts but is also suspicious of the newcomers. Scott's friend Heath is also one of the confirmed characters for "The Walking Dead" season 6.

Meanwhile, the cast of the show shared a few details about the upcoming season during the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month.

According to Sonequa Martin-Green, the actress who portrays the role of Sasha in the series, said that the upcoming season is going to tackle new themes, saying, "Reinvention and acclimation, those are big prevailing themes of the season."

The cast also admitted that more threats are coming in season 6, particularly the increase in the number of walkers.

"In the pilot, we had two days where we had 150 to 200 walkers shooting at the tank," executive producer Greg Nicotero said. "This season, we had 300 walkers in one day, which is the most we had ever done. The shots in the trailer, the shots of the swarm of the walkers on the road, it's just about taking the threat of the walkers and putting them in the forefront."

"The Walking Dead" season 6 is slated to premiere on Oct. 11.
