As the sixth season premiere of "The Walking Dead" draws near, more details about the show are starting to surface. Just recently, the cast of the hit AMC show continued its annual Comic-Con tradition by unveiling a new trailer and sharing some choice spoilers. At the San Diego event, producers confirmed that "Nurse Jackie" alum Merritt Weaver will play a character from the comics, while Ethan Embry is also joining the cast.

Season 5 ended with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) being given the authority to execute a resident of the Alexandria Safe Zone, and he did it just as his friend Morgan (Lennie James) returned to witness it. Morgan's reappearance came after rescuing Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) from one of the survivors' threats — a group who call themselves the Wolves.

As to what fans can expect from the new season, the cast and producers confirmed that the Wolves will continue to be a threat and that the show will feature an "us vs them" look at Rick's group and the residents of the Alexandria Safe Zone.

James said that season 6 will explain where Morgan has been all this time and he added that there will be fallout after he saw Rick kill someone.

Lincoln also revealed that his character is going to give love another shot. Addressing the question whether Rick and Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) are going to start dating, Lincoln said that Rick is "going to try speed dating in the apocalypse."

"He's met this girl, he kind of likes her, he just shot her husband in front of everybody, and so the first date is going to be quite an interesting conversation," he said.

Steven Yeun defended his character Glenn's decision to let Nicholas live, calling it his way to hold on to his humanity.

Meanwhile, Reedus said that Daryl goes "up and down" in life all the time, but has found a safe place with the people of Alexandria. He added that Daryl's place in the community will be tested in season 6.

Season 6 of "The Walking Dead" premieres on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
