WARC Executive Committee to Meet in Evian: "Water – God’s Gift for Life"

The Executive Committee of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) meets in Evian, France, from 6 to 15 October, under the theme “Water – God’s Gift for Life”.

|TOP|The meeting hopes to tackle a number of important issues including formulating a response to an invitation from the Reformed Ecumenical Council to establish a series of talks aimed at closer partnership between the two organisations.

The WARC Executive Committee is also looking to devise a restructuring plan for the organisation and its staff model at the meeting, which will be hosted by the Reformed Church of France and the Reformed Church of Alsace and Lorraine.

The forty members of the Executive Committee will also review the progress so far by member churches in fulfilling the mandates agreed at the 24th General Council held last year in Accra, Ghana.

At the 24th General Council WARC members listed among their seven priorities to uphold justice in the economy and the earth, spiritual renewal and greater communion within the Reformed Church’s global family.

The meeting will also include a visit to WARC offices in Geneva, where a modest re-organisation has been planned.
