Blizzard is currently working on "Legacy of the Void," the final installment for "StarCraft II." Speaking with IGN at this year's Gamescom, however, producer Tim Morten gave a slight hint that they might get together to work on "Warcraft 4" once "Legacy of the Void" is released. 

"It's very rewarding for us to hear that there's demand out there for more RTS content in the Warcraft universe so once we're done with Void I think we'll get together as a team and talk about what would inspire us to work on next," he told IGN. "There's no question, though, that we'll consider Warcraft, StarCraft, or even new ideas. Anything is possible." 

The "Warcraft" franchise started as an RTS game before the company took it and utilized its characters and lore for their MMO "World of Warcraft." Blizzard going back to the genre for "Warcraft 4" would be a significant move since it has been 15 years since "Warcraft 3." 

However, as Morten pointed out, the development team has not yet confirmed that their next project is indeed "Warcraft 4." In the same interview, he explained that they may find inspiration to do "StarCraft III" following entirely new characters or perhaps work on a new IP instead. Nothing has been set in stone at this point. 

All of this still rests on the release of "StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void" which is currently scheduled for a late 2015 release. 

If "Warcraft 4" does enter production, the main issue would surround its characters and story. "World of Warcraft" heavily expanded on the story of "Warcraft 3" and "The Frozen Throne" so it would be interesting to see where the story and setting of "Warcraft 4" would fit in the large, expansive history that Blizzard has created with their MMO.
