It was only a matter of time before "Warface" joined the bandwagon.

Game developer Crytek is adding a Battle Royale Mode to its free-to-play first-person shooter game "Warface." Making the announcement few days ago, they said that the new mode is expected to roll out with the video game's update.

Since the success of "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds'" own Battle Royale mode, "Warface" is taking their gameplay in this direction as well. The Battle Royale Mode will have a large number of players of "Warface" being dropped into a map location with the goal of eliminating the other players before they get booted out. 

A new thing that "Warface" is adding is a new map for its Battle Royale mode. The map does not have an official name when it was announced in the video game's press release, but Crytek announced that it will be a mix of the more traditional and newer type of maps in the "Warface," with the goal of merging quick shooting battles with an unknown element that players would have to deal with.

The new mode will be available in the "Warface's" next update patch, although no exact date was given. Crytek added that the mode will only be available for a limited amount of time. Presently, the mode is still on its trial phase. The game developer has also asked the players who will check it out to provide their feedback and suggestion, which they can implement before the trial mode expires.

Crytek's addition of the Battle Royale mode to "Warface" is not surprising given that the video game has been out since 2013 and majority of the reviews that it has received have not been positive. Crytek's move is most likely motivated by the success that "PlayerUnknown's Battleground's" Battle Royale mode is getting. The video game's success has made it Steam's most-played game. Observers will just have to wait and see if this move by Crytek will draw in more players.
