Digital Extremes, the developer of third-person shooter video game "Warframe," announced that the "Shrine of Eidolon" update, the expansion of the game's former update, "Plains of Eidolon," is now available.

Eidolons are mysterious titans that came from the fragments of The Sentient's body, a deformed creature sent from a dark fold of space that fell to the Plains. To this day, Eidolons wander the Plains and loom over the people of Cetus. The "Plain of Eidolon" introduced a Titan — the Teralyst, which rises from the depths of water every night. According to the Ostron legends, there are two more Eidolons that fell down the Plains. Eidolon Hunters are trying to summon the said Eidolons.

The new update, "Shrine of Eidolon," introduces the two Eidolons that the legends speak of —  the Gantulyst and the Hydrolyst. Ostrons believe the Gantulyst uses a giant boulder for an arm and has the ability to radiate powerful beams of Sentient energy. Hoping to gain the dormant Eidolon's favor, the Ostrons built a shrine in the Gantulyst's honor. On the other hand, Ostrons believe that the Hydrolyst is a harbinger of upcoming natural disasters. Legends speak of a prominent, pungent smell that comes before the arrival of the Hydrolyst.

Moreover, the new Eidolons can grant players Riven Transmuters. These items have the ability to transmute four Riven mods of the same type into a brand-new Riven of that type. The latest update also features a new pilotable vehicle referred to as Dargyn, which players can use to search for the Gantulyst and the Hydrolyst.

In an interview with IGN, Live Ops and Community Director at Digital Extremes Rebecca Ford gave two hints on how players can make the two new Eidolons appear. First, Ford said that players must be able to defeat the Teralyst for the Gantulyst and the Hydrolyst to appear. And second, she said that it is important for players to know that Eidolons never appear at the same time.
