All eyes are on John Wall ahead of today's vital Game 5, with everyone wondering whether the star player will be fit enough to take part tonight.

The decision on whether Wall will play is likely to go all the way to the wire with a game-time decision expected. If he does make it, it would be a massive boost to the Washington Wizards, as they attempt to claim their first appearance in the Eastern Conference finals in 36 years.

After the Game 1 injury, in which Wall suffered five non-displaced fractures in his non-shooting hand, most thought that he would play no further part in this series.

However, his recovery has been encouraging, and on Tuesday it was reported that the swelling in his hand had gone down significantly, and by Wednesday morning he was able to take part in some more aggressive dribbling practice drills.

Whether that means he will make it for tonight's game remains to be seen, but the signs are most definitely hopeful for the Wizards.

Wall has explained that the plan is for him to try out his wrist ahead of the game, and get a check over with medics prior to tonight's match up before a final decision is made. He has said, "See how I can make moves with the dribble. That's the key, being able to make moves that I feel comfortable with, that I'm used to making."

He added, "It's a matter of do I feel confident. You can be comfortable no matter what, but if you're not confident in your ability to do what you want to do, there's no point in playing."

Statistics show clearly how important Wall is to the Wizards' team. With him in the team this postseason they are 5-0, where as when they have been missing him they are just 1-2.
