Developer InXile Entertainment announced the development of "Wasteland 3" last week. They also unveiled their crowdfunding campaign with a $2.75 million goal that was achieved in just 3 days.

As of this writing, there are 14,602 backers that have pledged a total of $2,863,845 on the crowdfunding service fig. There still ample time left before the campaign closes, with 23 days to go.

Brian Fargo, CEO of inXile, said excitedly on the latest update: "In little over three days we've achieved our goal of $2.75M, allowing us to make Wasteland 3 the ambitious sequel you deserve. You are all amazing and we can't thank you enough."

Fargo also added: "Without you, we would simply not be able to maintain our independence and keep fully true to our visions for great RPGs that you love. We also cannot fail to mention those who have chosen to invest in the financial performance of the game – their contributions have also been invaluable. Your trust and support means the world to us. So kick back, put your red boots up, and have some squeezins to celebrate."

Several stretch goals were also mentioned on the update. First, for reaching $2.85 million, the game can have more Ranger customization options that include body types, heads, and even hair styles. The second stretch goal is at $3.0 million, and reaching it will add Morningstar, a car companion, to the game. It is the AI (artificial intelligence) that was built to serve for Ronald Reagan, just like Kit from the "Knight Rider" TV series. It will then provide the players with a digital tour guide during travels, as well providing suggestions during combat. The last goal, for now, is the customizable Ranger squad insignia for the players' team, which will also be visible at their respective bases. The studio could make it possible once the crowdfunding reaches $3.1 million.

The studio has also collaborated CrowdOx to be able to accept pledges via PayPal.

"Wasteland 3" is estimated to be released by the fourth quarter of 2019 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, Linux, and Mac.
