"Wayward Pines" definitely proves that there's more to things than meets the eye. In the penultimate episode of the season, things don't look good for the group of rebels — or what's left of them — after their attempt to take down the fence.

The episode is called "A Reckoning," for a reason. In the promo for next week's installment, the citizens of the town pressure Ethan into slashing Kate's throat as part of the reckoning and the worst part is that the sheriff may give in to their expectation.

However, it looks like Ethan will take this opportunity to tell the whole town what horrors lie beyond the fence and what the fake little town really is. Will his revelation instigate unity or will David Pilcher's fear materialize for the second time?

Pilcher's plans don't exactly match that of Ethan's, who announced to the public that a bomb exploded whereas the scientist wanted the town to believe it was gas leak that caused the detonation, which most of them wouldn't buy anyway.

Meanwhile, Harold is finally in Ethan's clutches and the sheriff isn't going to let him go this time. According to the synopsis, Ethan interrogates Kate's husband about what went down with their plan and what happened to his cohorts.

Curiosity mounts even more with Nurse Pam urging Theresa to investigate more about Plot 33. Is this a ploy or is Pilcher's sister slowly turning her back against her own brother? More importantly, could the abandoned piece of land be the way out of the freak show of a town?

On the other hand, Ben's teacher is convincing him into speaking publicly about the incident and it looks like he might do just that but not just because of the hypnotism going on. Ben is likely step up knowing that Amy's condition after the explosion is worsening.

This "Wayward Pines" episode definitely has a lot going on as it sets the stage for the finale of the season. "A Reckoning" will air on July 16.
