The residents of Wayward Pines seem to have learned a thing or two more about the abbies in "Wayward Pines" season 2. However, if the latest promo for the new season is any indication, the flesh-eaters are evolving too.

When fans check back in on the crazy little town, it will be governed by Jason Higgins (Tom Stevens) of the First Generation, the most adamant high-schooler from the first season who wanted to keep the vision and customs of the town employed.

That meant keeping the brutal reckonings, which were held by Sheriff Pope (Terrence Howard) in the first season. Many seem to oppose Jason's leadership because when Dr. Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) wakes up in the middle of the sleepy town in "Wayward Pines" season 2, a rebellion is at top gear.

Jason also appears to be a biased leader anyway. In the clip, he tells an unseen individual that he is not capable of protecting him or her of what might happen. He seems to be referring to the abbies finding their way in, as prefigured in the promo.

The mutants were seen piling up against the wall until one of them manages to go over it. Another one of the abbies was also shown in the "Wayward Pines" season 2 promo, but this one met a tragic fate.

As part of educating the Wayward Pines Academy students, former hypnotherapist Megan Fisher (Hope Davis) takes the creepiness up a notch by bringing to class a dead abbie to prove that only the only good abbies are dead ones.

Another glaring takeaway from the "Wayward Pines" season 2 trailer is that some students appear to be pregnant. Was pregnancy made a requirement to bulk up the populace of the town?

Lastly, the "Wayward Pines" season 2 promo also shows Kate (Carla Gugino), who appears to be appealing to residents of the town to do something about their world and their future.
