In the penultimate episode of "Wayward Pines," David Pilcher's fears were realized as the whole town learned the truth about the town. As it turns out, it's the scientist who can't handle reality and he certainly is the one that can cause more damage than the feared abbies that dwell beyond the fence.

In a teaser from Fox for the season finale titled "Cycle," the town is in total chaos after Pilcher removes the fence, allowing every single one of the cannibalistic abbies to enter and basically kill the townspeople. Pilcher concerns himself with no human. His experiment is his only focus.

In the teaser clip, Charlie Tahan, who plays Ethan's son Ben, implies a horrifying end to it all, saying that there's "a lot of gunfire, a lot of abbies... not too many survivors." Carla Gugino, who plays Kate, simply says the season finale is an "all-out war" and her character is prepared.

Siobhan Fallon Hogan, who plays Arlene, the Sheriff's secretary, says that it is "complete chaos," adding that each and every one of them will "run for [their] life" as the abbies race to the territory as if they have been called for meal time.

The episode will center on the people's battle for survival as the abbies run amok making a meal out of them. Meanwhile, Nurse Pam attempts to convince Pilcher to stop the madness. It remains to be seen if he will even listen as he sees these humans as mere collateral damage for the success of the experiment.

The finale will also see the First Generation exert their best efforts in ensuring that this won't be the end of humanity. Kate and Ethan, on the other hand, plan an attack to take down Pilcher, who seems to have lost his sanity in the wake of all the events.

The "Wayward Pines" season finale will air July 23.
