While there has been official confirmation that popular Australian series "Wentworth" was renewed for a fifth season, fans are wondering how the show will continue despite the death of main character Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack), who was murdered last season by Joan Ferguson (Pamela Rabe).

As one of the show's most popular characters, fans are waiting with bated breath whether Bea will return for the upcoming season. Many are holding out hope that she miraculously survived, and that the "Wentworth" team are just keeping viewers in suspense only to spring the surprise on them.

There are also those who are already betting on who will replace Cormack as the show's lead, given that the actress' shoes are pretty hard to fill. Some viewers are hedging their bets on Rabe's character Joan "The Freak" Ferguson, given that she caused the death of Bea, but there are also those who think that its time for Karen "Kaz" Proctor (Tammy Hamilton) to step up and be the top dog.

Meanwhile, it seems that even executive producer Jo Porter is having a difficult time with their decision to kill off Bea.

"It is always an incredibly difficult decision to say farewell to a much-loved and revered character like Bea Smith. Which is why this storyline has had such a huge impact on us all and we are sure fans will feel the same. This decision was particularly hard as it meant also saying goodbye to Danielle Cormack," she said.

However, even as fans are mourning the loss of a strong character, they are excited about reports that Aussie actor and Hollywood star Liam Hemsworth is being considered for a guest role to kick off the storylines for the show's fifth season, reported Game and Guide.

While rumors are rife online, no official confirmation has been made yet.

"Wentworth" is expected to return to Foxtel in 2017.
