Mysteries will unravel in the final episode of "Westworld" next week, as promised by series showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunners hinted that they will answer most of the questions left hanging all throughout the first season. According to Nolan, they would not like to keep the plot hanging for a long time. "Our goal is to tell an ambitious story in season-long chapters, each with a distinct feel and theme," the co-showrunner stated.

Joy, on the other hand, mentioned that every question that the viewers of the Western-themed sci-fi thriller had all throughout the season will be unveiled, except for what will happen next.

The trailer for the first season finale of "Westworld," titled "The Bicameral Mind," showed Teddy Flood (James Marsden) back on the train where he was seen back in the season premiere. But this time, he looks more anxious compared to the first episode.

William (Jimmi Simpson) is also seen in the promo trailer for the season finale as he continues to face off against the Confederates. This could mean that he will be completely mad as he continues to search for Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood). The real identity of the Man in Black (Ed Harris) might also be finally revealed in the final episode of "Westworld" season 1.

Meanwhile, the entertainment president of HBO Casey Bloys previously teased in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the follow-up season of "Westworld" could be as interesting as the show's first season. "I didn't know exactly what to expect in season 2. And what [Nolan and Joy] came up with is as exciting, mysterious and as fun as season 1. And completely original, as well," Bloys stated.

HBO will air the 90-minute long first season finale of "Westworld" on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 9 p.m. EST, while season 2 is not expected to air until 2018.
