The Christian life is marked by no less than faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, redemption, provision, and virtually everything we need in this earth. It has been said that to have Jesus in our lives means to have everything we need, and nothing could be more true because with Jesus in us, our faithful God will give us all we need to conquer in life.

Everyone is in need of some level of breakthrough or probably a couple of them to see God move in the impossible. You could feel trapped and helpless in some area right now and need the evident move of God in your life. God doesn't always move the way we ask Him to, but rest assured we can trust that He will move. Psalm 37:9 declares, "The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble."

So many times, however, in the pursuit of breakthroughs for the impossible, we focus too much on the size of our faith or the volume of sin in our life, thinking that it matters. This is the most crippling mindset when it comes to seeing God move because Jesus declares in Luke 17:6, "If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."

It's about God's faithfulness, not our faith

Left to our own, we will always try to earn God's favour and this also applies in the area of believing God for miracles. We think that if we fast more, pray more, read the Bible more or abstain from sin more, God will love and bless us more. Sure the Bible says that God's promises follow commands, but if our blessings were based on our righteousness, none of us would be blessed because we have all sinned.

But Jesus said that through Him, all commands and conditions have already been fulfilled through Him. Our breakthroughs have very little to do with what we do and everything to do with believing in God's faithfulness. Hebrews 10:23 tells us, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful."

Jesus alone is the enablement of faith and the fulfilment of God's promise. Apart from Him, the impossible will remain impossible, but when we are in Christ, we can face mountains and tell them to move in His name. There is power in the name of Jesus Christ that can go beyond any power in this world, and God has asked us simply to believe that Jesus' name is more than enough to see greater breakthroughs come to pass.
