Twenty-First Century Fox Inc has cut their ties with news anchor Bill O'Reilly following the allegations of sexual harassment. However, it looks like the network has already found someone to take his place.

O'Reilly has been off air since April 11, but it was just recently that the network announced that he will no longer be coming back to the channel. The decision of his ouster, according to Reuters, came after several advertisers started to back out of his show, ending his career at Fox News which ran for more than 20 years.

Variety recently reported that the network has announced that starting Monday, April 24, Tucker Carlson, who joined Fox News primetime ranks a few months ago and has delivered solid ratings, will move to O'Reilly's 8 p.m. slot from his former 9 p.m. slot.

Carlson also previously replaced Megyn Kelly's 9 p.m. slot when she left the network in January. Despite her leaving Fox News, her audience did not, which contributed to the ratings success of Carlson's show.

However, according to New York Times, O'Reilly is a different matter and Carlson has big shoes to fill. O'Reilly has gained a massive fanbase over the years, which has even made him a best-selling author, apart from being a famous TV personality. Because of this, the network executives are hoping that his viewers will openly accept the change that's about to happen.

"Fox News has demonstrated again and again the strength of its talent bench," Rupert Murdoch, chairman of the network, reportedly stated in a memo to Fox News Channel employees this week. "We have full confidence that the network will continue to be a powerhouse in cable news."

Meanwhile, Carlson's 9 p.m. slot will be replaced with the former afternoon show, "The Five," co-hosted by Bob Beckel, Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Jesse Watters, and Juan Williams.
