"Bright" star Will Smith welcomed 2018 with a heartfelt anniversary message for her wife Jada Pinkett Smith. The married couple recently celebrated their 20th anniversary together.

The American actor poured his heart out on an Instagram post of him and Jada holding hands during their wedding back on Dec. 31, 1997. Smith started his message with, "20 Years Ago Today we held hands and walked naively down the Aisle." Smith then continued to share everything he learned throughout the years of being with her loving wife. The 49-year-old star said love is a lot like gardening. "I have learned to focus on HELPING you to BLOSSOM into what YOU want to be (into what you were born to be)... Rather than demanding that you become what my Fragile Ego needs you to be," Smith wrote.

"Love is Listening. Love is Giving. Love is Freedom," he added. Many fans then applauded Smith for his message and quickly congratulated the two of them for their strong love for each other. One fan even wrote, "We need more will Smith's."

Smith concluded his tribute message with "Happy Anniversary, My Queen! I am forever Devoted to Nurturing your Deepest Truth."

Will and Jada's daughter, Willow, posted a screenshot of his father's message to her mother and wrote, "Real Life. #divinemasculinity."

Many entertainment publications said that a lot of people, especially couples, can learn a lot from Smith's message and its delivery.

Smith's most recent project is Netflix's first-ever blockbuster movie "Bright," which generated mixed reviews from fans and movie critics. Smith played the character of Scott Ward, a police officer partnered with an orc named Nick Jakoby portrayed by Joel Edgerton.

Some movie experts commended the movie for its unique concept. Variety considers "Bright" as the best original movie by Netflix so far. The publication also praised Smith and Edgerton's chemistry together.
